Happy Birthday Little Birdie

Decided to play around with some of the new things.  I grabbed the hostess set Hello Love and two sets of Stampin' Up! Blendabilities, Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana and a Note Card I had sitting around. Very simple card as I had hardly any of my stuff with me.   But I still like how it turned out.   I stamped the inside of the card with the "It's Your Birthday" sentiment in the Hello Love set.  Hope you like the card.

Grunge Background

The "background" was adhered in the order it was cut on the above image.

On this card, I mixed them around a bit so that none of the images matched up.
I started out with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped it randomly with images from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. I used Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana Ink pad. I then cut it into thirds and matted it on a piece of Very Vanilla (4 x 5 1/4) cardstock.  I wrapped coastal cabana ruffled ribbon around the Very Vanilla layer and adhered it to the back of the Vanilla mat.  Then stamped a sentiment from Gifts of Kindness and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch.  Using the Decorative Label Punch I punched out a piece of Wisteria Wonder, cutting it half, adhering one to the top of the stamped label and one to the bottom.  Used dimensionals to pop up the label and adhered it over the ribbon.  Adhered all this to a Coastal cabana card base.

Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge and  Gifts of Kindness
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Wisteria Wonder and Calypso Coral
Paper: Very Vanilla, Costal Cabana and Wisteria Wonder
Accessories: Coastal Cabana Ruffled Stretch Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch

Happy Watercolor

Here's a couple cards using the same layout and color combos as this card here.  I used the same stamp set, but changed it up just a little bit.

On this card all I changed was the sentiment and I used my Old Olive marker instead of Bermuda Bay to color in the stem and leaves.

On this card I used the watercolor "blob" (not sure what you would call that exactly) to color in my flower image.

Hope you like the cards.  Thanks for stopping by.

Honeycomb Crumb

Hey there!  It has been a long week.  Sorry I haven't posted anything.   Haven't really been making any cards.  I have been working on some mini albums or brag books.  Haven't finished any of them, but getting closer I guess.

I'll share some cards I did about a week or so ago and just haven't gotten around to writing anything about them.   On my desk I have a basket that I put punched pieces or stamped/embossed, etc. images that I didn't end up using on a card or didn't turn out exactly like I wanted them to.  I was rummaging through it and found a Crumb Cake piece that was dry embossed with the Honeycomb embossing folder. I remember seeing this card/video here and thought hmm....I could use that piece for something like that. I also needed a birthday card for my sister, so this is what I came up with.

I knew I wanted to use Bermuda bay because I had the ribbon and I just love that color right now.  Then I believe, (if I remember correctly) I got the color combo off of the Color Coach. Don't have it with me to double check.  But anyways...

I grabbed the Deco Label framelits and ran it through the big shot to cut the label shape in the already embossed crumb cake piece.  I stamped the flower image from Happy Watercolor in Stazon Black ink onto whisper white cardstock and colored the image in with my Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Cajun Craze markers.  I then tied the ribbon around the layer of crumb cake.  Stamped the happy birthday from Express yourself in Cajun craze on White cardstock and punched it out with the modern label punch and popped it up with dimensionals.  I then popped up the colored in flower piece and lined it up with the "window" and popped up that piece off of the Bermuda Bay base.  Ran a scrap piece of cardstock through the Butterfly embosslit (not sure of the exact name) and adhered one of the small ones to the card.

Hope you enjoy the card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate Soho

I created this card a while ago. I found a card on the internet that I liked the layout on, but it didn't use Stampin' Up! products so I decided to recreate the layout using Stampin' Up! products.  At first I wasn't sure if I like was a little out of my comfort zone.  But the more I looked at it, it has now become my favorite card.   I have a hard time using DSP (aka patterned paper) on a card. I've been getting better at it though. :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Blue Ribbon and Express Yourself (Hostess)
Ink: Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Crisp Cantaloupe
Paper: Soho Subway DSP, Vanilla, Early Espresso and Summer Starfruit
Accessories: 1-3/8", 1-1/4" and 3/4" circle punches, 1-1/4", 7/8", and 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, Naturals Designer Buttons and Chalk talk framelits.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you enjoyed the card.

Framed Elegance

All Images (C) Stampin' Up!
Had this frame sitting around in my craft room.   It's been moving around with us for about 9 years....maybe more.  Bought it to put some of our wedding pictures in, but never got around to it.  So I finally decided to at least decorate my craft room with it or something.

I knew I wanted to use the Eastern Elegance DSP, so I grabbed some coastal cabana cardstock and cut it to fit inside the frame (5x7).  I cut the DSP to show a little of the Coastal Cabana.  Then used the Happy Day Stamp Set to create the "focal image" and cut it out with the Deco Labels Collection framelits.  For the white piece I used the 2nd die (counting from the inside out) and for the smoky slate mat I used the 3rd die.  Well, actually I cut out the 2nd one again on accident, so I then took that and cut it again with the 3rd die from the set.  Ended up just gluing the white piece inside of the smoky slate cut outs instead of on top like I had originally planned.   Hope that ended up making sense.  If you have any questions I would love to answer them...just leave a comment or send me and email.  Thanks.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you enjoyed the project.

Primrose medallions

Another card made using the Daydream Medallions Stamp set.  I had it out, so why not create with it?!  I used the images in the stamp set to create my own patterned paper.  I have a hard time using DSP on my cards, so I usually end up creating my own.

Supplies: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Daydream Medallions, A dozen Thoughts
Ink: Island Indigo, Primrose Petals and Crumb Cake
Paper: Primrose Petals, Island Indigo, Crumb cake and Whisper White
Accessories: floral frames framelits, Finishing touches Edgelits

Thanks for stopping by.

Daydream Petals

I haven't posted in a long while, but plan to change that.  I have more time on my hands now and more time to stamp also.  So I should be updating quite a bit more.  My camera still isn't the greatest, but hopefully soon that will also be changing.

Anyways, onto the card.  When I sat down to create I wanted to use the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set. Bought it a while ago, but never used it.  So I figured it was time.  I also pulled out the coordinating Floral Frames Framelits Dies. This is what I came up with:

All Images (C) Stampin' Up!

Supplies: (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Daydream medallions ~Item#131976 (w), 126467(c); A Dozen Thoughts ~ Item# 131056(w), 131059(c).
Paper: Island Indigo, Primrose Petals, Very Vanilla and Soho Subway DSP (130140)
Ink: Primrose Petals, Island Indigo
Accessories: Pearl Basic Jewels, Floral Frames Framelits, Primrose 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by.  Any questions feel free to comment or email me.
